This is a setting of the poem "Polaris" by Simon Armitage, as used for the BBC radio 3 carol competition 2023. I was especially struck by the way each of the three verses is structured with ironic lines about a powerful segment of society not facing up to global warming challenges - followed by a contrasting line about the truth of nature.
